Malagrida Invisible Grated Channels for Draining Aesthetically Refined Spaces
Are you a landscaper, hotel manager, or simply a private individual looking to protect your spaces from surface water? Thanks…
CANALINA INFINITY One Line is an advanced linear drainage system that is 100% watertight and allows for the efficient flow of surface water.
Suitable for paved structures in both indoor and outdoor environments.
The system is made of Polypropylene (PP) and consists of 1.50-meter-long modules connected in a continuous line. The minimum channel thickness is 11 cm at screed level.
The section and internal slope of the CANALINA INFINITY One Line drainage channels increase water flow speed and the resulting self-cleaning force, helping to prevent debris buildup at the bottom of the conduit.
The material and construction design make the channel extremely lightweight, offering all related logistical advantages. The channels feature an internal slope and can be installed flat, simplifying installation procedures.
Around the channel body, there is a flange with an applied felted fabric that allows connection to insulation systems using thin-bed techniques. The frames on the channel and on the special components are made of AISI 316L stainless steel.
The system is completed with suitable and fully compatible special components, such as drain terminals, end caps, and accessories to ensure a watertight seal.
The channels can be inspected and cleaned using the cover of the central drain as an access point.

Check that the lip seals are placed in their housing at the ends of the duct and are not deformed. When assembling, respect the order of the letters printed on the duct body (A-A/B-B/C-C).

Assemble the channels after having lubricated the male joint with the approved lubricant, ensuring to put the flat seal between the channels. The flat seal has to adhere perfectly with the mounting flange of the channels. Position the galvanized iron connecting plates outside the mounting flange of the channels, and fasten the channels with the screws and bolts provided, making sure of tightening the bolt using a “criss-cross” sequence, without tightening too much to avoid spilling the flat seal. This incorrect fastening can compromise the waterproofing of the system. To make the assembly easier, we suggest to undertake the above mentioned phases of assembly with the channels upside down. It is recommended to perform the assembly on flat surfaces. To complete the assembly with elements like the end caps and the drain terminals carefully repeat Phases 1-2.

Put the ducting into the position of use. Important Note: If the channel is more than 3 meters long, more fitters will be required in order to avoid any abnormal twists to the duct. Lay it at the desired height. Please Note: Once the previous steps have been carried out correctly, we recommend to flood the channel system to check its waterproofing.

Make the formwork or duct access box (as shown in the figure) with structural fluid cement mortar with a minimum thickness on the side of the felted fins of 5 cm, taking care to fill it evenly on the exterior.

Connect the channel with the drainage system (with the proper size and slope).
Note: use only pipes with o-rings seal. Use only pipes with o-rings waterproof seal.

Run the sloping screed up against the previously made concrete formwork or box, taking care not to ruin the fabric on it, as this would result in a reduced seal of any waterproofing system to be carried out later. We recommend protecting the fabric. Any waterproofing must be carried out in adherence to the felt flap in accordance with the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the waterproofing system. It is necessary, however, in order to connect the waterproofing system and the channel, to apply the strip junction (ARTICLE INF/BAND) listed in the catalogue/price list.

This step – crucial at this point in the flooring installation – relates to the drainage elements of the system: INF/S90/OL8 or INF/S90/OL12 or INF/S90/OL16 and TCN/SD50/OL8 or TCN/SD50/OL12 or TCN/SD50/OL16. The first thing to be done when paving is to glue (with an outdoor cement glue) a floor strip with the measurements shown in the figure in adherence to the previously inserted template into the slots of the aforementioned drains.

This stage – crucial at this point in the flooring installation – relates to the drainage elements of the system: INF/S90/OL8P15 or INF/S90/OL12P15 or INF/S90/OL16P15 and TCN/SD50/OL8P15 or TCN/SD50/OL12P15 or TCN/SD50/OL16P15. The first thing to do when flooring is to glue (with an outdoor cement glue) a floor strip with the measurements shown in the picture, leaving the silicone expansion joint as shown in the drawing.

Insert the templates one after the other, inserting them into the steel crosspieces through the slots. Lay the floor in adherence to the templates.

Lay the floor, leaving the silicone expansion joint as shown in the drawing.

Compared to metal, concrete, and cement, PP (polypropylene) is much lighter. This polymer offers excellent resistance to corrosion, chemical agents, and extreme temperatures. In addition, it is more cost-effective and requires very little maintenance.
Malagrida Group’s One Line systems are specifically designed for installation in tiled floors. The single-slot design integrates perfectly with the joints between tiles, preserving the aesthetic of the space.
Maintenance of polypropylene systems is similar to that of metal or concrete systems. Once the access panel – located near the drain – is removed, you can clean the inside of the duct using a sufficiently powerful water jet, a sponge with a flexible rod, and a mild detergent.
Avoid using abrasive sponges and concentrated soaps.

In general, Polypropylene (PP) systems are more affordable than models made entirely of stainless steel or concrete.
